BLOG TOUR ~ A Restored Man by Jamie Reese

Title: A Restored Man
Series: The Men of Halfway House #3
Author: Jaime Reese
Genre: M/M Contemporary Romance
Release Date: February 17, 2015
Cole Renzo thinks his greatest challenge is to behave for the remainder of his term at Halfway House. Until he meets his new boss, Ty Calloway, a man who ticks off every box on Cole's list of interests.

A sought-after restorer and customizer of exotic and collectible cars, Ty had enough confidence to command what he wanted in life, until one fateful night changed everything. Almost two years later, he’s slowly rebuilding his life with great control. He's defied the odds and works tirelessly to be the man he once was—but he still feels broken.

Cole’s candor and unfiltered personality awaken Ty’s barely-remembered desire to greet each new day with a smile, while Ty’s unwavering acceptance of Cole’s quirks and brash humor makes Cole feel as if he fits in for the first time in far too long. When a nemesis threatens Ty’s personal restoration and the things he holds dear, Cole is determined to protect their relationship, even if that means sacrificing everything he’s worked so hard to achieve.

But Ty will have to let his guard down, surrender control, and admit he needs Cole first, even if that puts himself at risk of breaking beyond repair.

Chapter 1 - A Restored Man © Jaime Reese 2015

The music reverberated off the walls and filtered back through Cole's body. The sounds of Pitbull's "Timber" had him gyrating in the kitchen as he reached into the refrigerator. He grabbed the mozzarella then did exactly as the song commanded after shutting the door. He spun his body around repeatedly, holding the bag of cheese above his head while his hips arched up and down, completely seduced by the pounding beat of the song.
He closed his eyes. His heart thumped in unison with the beat, guiding his thick, compact, toned body in the fast-paced thrust of his hips as if he were pushing into the welcoming heat of a lover.
The pace slowed and so did his body, in complete sync with the rhythm. His hips rounded deeply, seductively, giving a show that would always excite more than the traditional foreplay.
Cole Renzo had some moves and he knew it.
The song sped up again and he glided barefoot across the tiled kitchen floor to reach the garlic cloves from the basket in the corner.
"Hey, you," Matt said, entering the kitchen, speaking loud enough for his voice to travel above the music.
Cole looked over at Matthew Doner, owner of the halfway house where he stayed, and smiled as his body moved to the rhythm of the song, not faltering a single beat with the interruption. He knew Matt loved to dance and had caught him doing his own version of a solo when he thought no one was watching. He dropped the garlic cloves on the counter and bent his finger in a come here motion, swinging his hips in a fluid Salsa-like move as he walked toward Matt slowly. Matt laughed and took two steps forward. Cole pulled him closer, spun him once then wrapped his arm around Matt's waist and started to dance to the faster thump of the song.
The laughter echoed in the kitchen as they moved in perfect time with the fast-paced rhythm nearing the end of the tune. Matt held up his arm and Cole circled with the expert elegance of a seasoned dancer, then pulled Matt close, stepped to the side and spun Matt in the same fashion.
"What the fuck!" Julian thundered when he entered the kitchen.
They froze at the sound of Julian's tone, just as the song ended. Cole's hand still rested on Matt's waist as they tried to settle their breathing, the absence of music magnifying the harsh puff of each exhale.
"Hey!" Cole responded cheerfully. "Matt and I were getting it on in here. Matt's got some hip action that would make a—"
Matt's hand came up around the back of Cole's head to cover his mouth, stopping him midsentence. What the hell? He was just going to compliment Matt on his seductive dance moves.
Cole glanced at Julian. His golden skin glowed, and he looked as if he had actually swelled an inch or two while standing there. His nostrils flared like a bull's. His usual intimidating green-eyed glare was more vicious than usual.
"What. The. Fuck," Julian said in that controlled tone that couldn't hide the undercurrent of his bubbling rage. He looked like he wanted to murder someone. Correction. Based on the white-knuckled fists he held at his sides, he was probably going to beat the shit out of some poor soul.
Murder would show mercy.
Matt's hand couldn't hide the smile Cole imagined was plastered on his face. Poor sorry ass idiot who dared piss off Julian Capeletti. He looked up at the green-eyed guy who towered over Cole's five-nine stature.
"J, calm down," Matt said to his partner in his usual calming tone.
Yeah, good luck with that. Julian was about to go ape shit on someone and Cole was going to have a front row seat to that show. Cole's stomach fluttered and he started shifting his weight from foot to foot. He couldn't wait to see Julian actually lose it for once.
Julian's jaw clenched and his fists tightened.
Wait a minute. Cole looked back and forth between Julian and Matt. Julian's not pissed at Matt—he never was. They had one of those sickly sweet, always romantic I love you lick fest relationships you secretly want but would never openly admit. Why was Julian so mad? And who the hell was he mad at? There was no one else in the kitchen.
Shit. Cole slowly registered how his actions or words may have been received. He instantly released Matt as if his fingers were singed and put his hands behind his back. Matt removed his hand from Cole's mouth. Cole took a few steps back and raised his hands in a surrender-like fashion, hoping to calm the golden beast that seemed to be growing in width with each passing second.
"We were just dancing," Cole said calmly. He knew better than to joke with Julian while he was in this state of mind. Stick to the facts. "I was making dinner…your favorite actually." He walked over slowly toward the stovetop like someone stepping away from a wild animal. He kept his focus trained on Julian as he lifted the pot tops on the stove.
Matt neared Julian and placed his hands on the stretched black T-shirt covering his broad chest. "J, I heard the music and came in here. You know I can't resist a dance," he said teasingly as he stroked Julian's chest. He then smiled and placed a kiss on Julian's neck.
Julian's focus shifted quickly from Cole to Matt and back to Cole. Within a second, his glare had changed. Matt kissed him again and Julian's eyes partially closed but snapped open, re-focusing on Cole as his target.
Matt's hand reached up Julian's neck to the back of his shaved head.
Julian's eyes closed and his head lolled to the side, seeking Matt's kisses up his neck then along his jawline. In a flash, he grabbed Matt by the hand and pulled him out the kitchen. Matt quickly glanced back to Cole with a huge grin on his face.
Cole sighed with relief as his entire body relaxed.
Crisis averted.
He always seemed to get a rise out of Julian but it was never intentional. Not really. He wouldn't deny he occasionally had some fun at Julian's expense. He just had the worst case of foot in mouth syndrome. It seemed his mouth worked much faster than his brain. He would never say or do anything to intentionally hurt someone, his mother had taught him better than that. But with a thousand different thoughts racing in his mind at any given moment, picking the right thing to say didn't always work out in his favor.
Or as Julian said, he had no social filter between his brain and mouth.
Cole returned his focus to the dinner he was preparing. Food. God, he loved to cook and was thankful as hell Matt and Julian allowed him to tinker in the kitchen. He didn't want to stir anything up—aside from the sauce he was preparing—but he needed to burn off the nervous energy that thrummed through his body on a constant basis. He pressed the button on the iPod docking station to jump to the next playlist and lowered the volume. The smooth sounds of Maroon 5 streamed through the speakers and eased his nerves as he continued to stir the sauce. Visions of Adam Levine singing and dancing came to mind. Mmm. The things he'd love to do to that man.
He was placing the garlic rolls in the oven some time later when Julian walked into the kitchen and opened the refrigerator to grab a bottled water. Cole closed the oven and stilled, hoping for some magic superpower that would render him invisible. He couldn't abandon dinner and risk it getting ruined or, even worse, messing up Halfway House, the place he had called his home for the last two months. Shit.
Cole turned, feeling as if he should say something, but shut his mouth almost as quickly to avoid aggravating the situation. He sucked at apologies and usually ended up shoving his other foot into his mouth as well.
Julian glared at him just as Matt entered the kitchen with flushed cheeks, a dreamy smile, and swollen lips. Matt hummed as he tugged his shirt to straighten it. When he looked up and saw both Cole and Julian looking at him, his eyes rounded and he quickly turned and exited the kitchen.
Midday booty call. Busted.
A slow smile began to spread across Cole's face. He glanced over at Julian who still had a death glare focused on him.
Julian pointed a finger at him. "Don't you dare go there," he said before turning away. "And pull up your pants. I can see your damn Spider-Man underwear."
"Hey, don't rag on the superheroes. Oh, and by the way…"
Julian turned and gave Cole a pointed glare.
Cole did a chin up gesture toward the door where Matt had been only moments ago. "You can thank me later."
The muscles in Julian's jaw flexed. He inhaled sharply, shook his head, and left the kitchen without saying another word.

I'm going to start with the cover and let y'all know that's my Ex's doppelganger....seriously, its freaky. It also made me hesitant on reading the book LOL!!!
Glad I did read it though. I was blurry eyed through the first 35%. It was a slow burn.
The chemistry between Ty and Cole was great, and I thought it built a solid ground for them. Aiden (Ty's brother) and Cole have a very strange relationship as well. I can't wait to see if that plays out a bit more in the next installment.

Cole comes up with some of the best names for Ty. My absolute favorite was My-Ty. Possessive and sweet *sigh* I also like that Ty only wanted Cole's beanie off just for him. As if his hair was some sacred thing between the two of them. It was all very sweet.

I glad to see this series is evolving the way it is and I'm so happy Julian and Matt are in them ALL. Julian is still my all time favorite <3

This book for me was probably the most emotional. I elicited a lot of their feelings. When they were sad, I was sad. When they were happy, I was happy. When Cole was bouncing around, well, i sat here and read, but in my mind I was bouncing around LOL

In conclusion, the characters were amazing and well developed, the writing was fantastic, the plot does thicken, emotions run high, there's excitement at the end, and she leaves us wanting more of a certain agent :)

I gave this a 4.5 spider monkey stars

This book has so much aspects to it,  the feelings of betrayal, the feeling of guilt and remorse.  Jaime put together a great couple.  We met Cole in “A Hunted Man (The Men of Halfway House #2).  I loved his wit,  his way of totally pissing off everyone in HH.  This beanie wearing smartass, stole my heart in this book.  We finally was giving the “scoop” of what makes Cole tick.

Enter Ty Calloway,  a man with his own secrets, that hs is holding very close to his vest.  Can Cole give Ty what he needs?  Make him let him behind that wall he keeps closed up was tightly?
Cole Awesome.jpg

Glad to say that Cole has great character and maybe exactly what Ty needs to let go of the past and live for the future.

Cole and Ty is by far the best couple that Jaime has giving us in the Men of Halfway House series,  don’t get me wrong, Julian, Matt, Cam and Hunter are great, but Cole and Ty SPOKE to me.  From the 1st page to the last I was completely caught up in this book,  I read it in one sitting, Could.Not.Put.It.Down.  Looking forward to what Jaime has for us in future books in this series.

Review(s) of Guns N Boys by KA Merikan

These are my reviews for all 3 full length GnB books. I can't say enough about this series, truly. If you love a good mafia book, with angst, blood, and betrayal, this is definitely a series for you!

Guns n' Boys: Book 1, Part 1 (Guns n' Boys, #1.1)Guns n' Boys: Book 1, Part 1 by K.A. Merikan
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A book where the character looses an appendage in the first chapter is my kind of book! It seems to be the ultimate set up for what is to come in this story line....

We have our boy Seth, son of the Don, who is off in America doing his thing. Going to college, living with his secret boyfriend ((heaven forbid the family find out)) and cooking like his mama taught him. Out of nowhere he is kidnapped and has no idea who these men are or why he is being taken, as he has no part in "the family"

In steps rescuer, Domenico, to get Seth out. Seems a rival family has taken Seth in exchange for what they want.... but the mystery lies within who set the order...

Upon arrival in Sicily, The Don decides to name his 2nd born, Seth, heir to "the throne". This doesn't please ANYBODY, not even Seth, & especially not his brother, Vincente. His father knows Seth has a lot to learn and decides the best to train him would be his #1 ass-as-in, Dom. They are sent to Berlin immediately to start their training.

The chemistry between these 2 is electric, and not exactly in a good way. Domenico seems to have anger issues, as their past would leave you to believe. Not with life in general, but with Seth specifically. I felt Dom was a bit "rapey" and overbearing, and I think that had a LOT to do with his anger and he feels he is "punishing" Seth for what he believes Seth to be.
But as the story progressed and the character stories are built, he really started growing on me. He starts to understand that Seth really is a sweet and oblivious guy, who really doesn't want to have anything to do with being The Don or leading the family, and that's when things start to really change.

Seth is a big puppy dog and I feel so bad for the position is put in. I have so many questions as to why his father chose him and what he's playing at. I think it's one big test between the 3 boys. I'm really excited to see how this will play out. I'm really rooting for Seth and Dom.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book is intense.

I was wondering how it would all play out. Not that I got all the answers as there are loose ends.

Dom and Seth have really grown on me and Dom is the sweetest in the most weirdest, alpha way. He is so supportive during Seth's "arranged marriage" and so sweet as to exchange signets with him... and don't get me started on the dance in the barn scene. *melts*

I hate that Seth's uncle treated Dom the way he did when he was younger, but it also made Dom the man he is now. I also found it funny when he told Dom to have fun on "his" honeymoon. Dom and Seth still have a lot to learn about each other and they get their chance while being able to be alone together in New York.
Seth is still struggling with this new side that Dom brings out in him.
While they're there, they get a surprise visit from Seth's older brother, Vincente. While at a strip club, Dom learns a bit of a secret as to whom they thing set the hit out on Seth's kidnapping. Could it be sibling rivalry? Or something more??

Dom is faced with a very hard decision. Serve The Don or protect the love of his life. Things are not as they appear and they will have the ultimate battles for their lives and will have to look towards an old severed relationship with Seth's ex to help get them through.

This book was riveting and it was everything.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Blown the fuck away. This is the best one yet.
The authors took it there, I was biting my finger nails towards the end.
Gritty, raw, and just as fucking amazing. I bloody love these guys... a lot!
Not for the weak at heart (or stomach).

The book starts where 1.2 left off. They're holed up in Seth's ex's apartment while Dom is recovering after a shoot out with the rival family that kidnapped Seth in book 1. Unfortunately when Dom wakes up, he is not "quite himself" and Seth must take over this strange mission. Too bad Dom never told him much, only that they were going to head towards Mexico.

Now that Dom can't quite remember anything, Dom must re-learn about Seth and it i is killing Seth that Dom can't remember what they had. Is it a new beginning, without their rough start? or will it be an end to their relationship? The whirlwind of events that happen when they travel are both funny and traumatic.

I think my favorite part was the "Gay Italian Chicken Farmer" scene and seth "not wanting to be a meme" *chuckles*

When Dom learns the truth about his and Seth's past, he wonders to himself how someone like Seth could have liked someone like him, when he realizes the old him treated Seth like crap. This really changes the dynamic in their relationship and takes it a step further in the right direction. Dom becomes this sweet, caring, but still protective boyfriend, and it is the most epic thing to witness. I really just love these guys.

In my first review, I mention the awesomeness in chapter one about loosing an appendage. Welllllll... it gets even more gruesome! This series is just... I can't even tell you enough about it, you really just need to read all of this awesome.

♔♚ BLOG TOUR~ Rise & Fall (THIRDS Book #4) by Charlie Cochet ♔♚

Rise & Fall
(THIRDS Series, Book #4)
by Charlie Cochet

After an attack by the Coalition leaves THIRDS Team Leader Sloane Brodie critically injured, agent Dexter J. Daley swears to make Beck Hogan pay for what he’s done. But Dex’s plans for retribution are short-lived. With Ash still on leave with his own injuries, Sloane in the hospital, and Destructive Delta in the Coalition’s crosshairs, Lieutenant Sparks isn’t taking any chances. Dex’s team is pulled from the case, with the investigation handed to Team Leader Sebastian Hobbs. Dex refuses to stand by while another team goes after Hogan, and decides to put his old HPF detective skills to work to find Hogan before Theta Destructive, no matter the cost.

With a lengthy and painful recovery ahead of him, the last thing Sloane needs is his partner out scouring the city, especially when the lies—however well intentioned—begin to spiral out of control. Sloane is all too familiar with the desire to retaliate, but some things are more important, like the man who’s pledged to stand beside him. As Dex starts down a dark path, it’s up to Sloane to show him what’s at stake, and finally put a name to what’s in his heart.

Dex sorted out all of Sloane’s pillows, fluffing them up and arranging them before bringing the tray over.
Once Sloane was settled, Dex placed the tray over his lap and kissed him, tasting a faint hint of minty freshness.

Sloane stared down at the tray.

“Is it okay?” Dex asked. Had he forgotten something? “Eggs benedict and pancakes are your favorite,

Sloane nodded.

“What’s wrong?”

“You made heart-shaped pancakes.”

Dex held back a smile. “Are they too unmanly? Should I have made them grenade-shaped? I’m sure
Letty’s got a mold for those.”

Sloane chuckled. “No, hearts are fine. It’s real sweet. Thank you.”

Dex sat down on the edge of the bed beside him. He ran his fingers through Sloane’s hair feeling guilty
for having left him on his own last night. Sloane could take care of himself, even if he was injured, but

his partner was drugged up and obviously feeling a little out of it, considering his reaction to the heart
shaped pancakes. Maybe it was time he took care of his partner like he’d promised he would.

“Why don’t you eat your breakfast while I shower, and we’ll watch a movie or something together?”

Sloane gave him a wide smile. “I’d like that.”

Dex left Sloane to his breakfast and went off to shower as quickly as he could. Showering wasn’t as
much fun without his partner. As he lathered himself up, a naughty thought occurred to him. He’d also
promised he’d make his partner purr. Finishing up, he could barely hold back his smile or the heat
spreading through him. Easy there, Daley. Don’t get yourself worked up yet. He dressed in his comfy
cotton pajama bottoms and a loose faded Back to the Future T-shirt before heading out into the
bedroom. Sloane was smiling, his plate devoid of any evidence food had ever been on there. Wow, his
partner had been hungry. Really hungry. Starving. Sort of like after….

“Please tell me you didn’t.” Dex removed the tray and put it on the floor against the wall. He pulled the
blanket back and tried to lift Sloane’s T-shirt, but his partner slapped his hand away. “Sloane, let me see,
damn it.” He grabbed Sloane’s wrist with one hand and managed to pull up the cotton shirt, cursing
under his breath at the tiny beads of blood seeping through the bandage. “For fuck’s sake, did you try to
shift?” When Sloane looked away, Dex had his answer. No wonder his partner was out of it. It wasn’t
just the meds. Sloane hadn’t recuperated from postshift. Dex opened the minifridge and found it empty.
“When?” He slammed the fridge door shut.

“Last night. After you called,” Sloane mumbled.

“Last night?” Dex put a hand to his head. Veggies and hummus were all well and good for Sloane’s
Human side, but not for the Felid inside him. He needed meat, protein, and more than the packet of
sliced chicken Dex had left him in the fridge. “Fuck. Sloane, you know you’re not supposed to attempt
shifting. The doctor said so, and it’s in the packet. To make matters worse, you do it when there’s no
one here to perform postshift trauma care? With no access to the right foods? What were you

“I’m thinking I need to fucking heal, and if that’s the quickest way to do it, then it’s a risk I’m willing to

Sloane’s ferocity surprised Dex, and he took a step back. His partner’s pupils were dilated and his fangs
slightly elongated. Fuck, what the hell was going on? It was like Sloane was having trouble controlling his
feral side. Dex could see it. He could see the Felid inside Sloane staring back at him from behind glowing
amber eyes. Could the meds be doing this? The recovery packet the doctor had given them specifically
instructed Sloane not shift while he was healing, especially while on his meds.

“Okay, take it easy. It’s me.” Dex held his hands up in front of him and swallowed hard, aware of the
telltale signs. “There’s no hurry for you to heal, Sloane. It’s okay.”

“It’s not okay,” Sloane snarled, his fingers flexing against the sheets and his nails starting to grow. Fuck.
Oh fuck.

“Sloane, you need to breathe. Calm down.” Dex slowly edged away from the bed. Why was this
happening? Sloane had never lost his grip on his Felid side. Not to mention he’d yet to fully recover from

his first attempt. “Please, Sloane. Your body’s not healed from the first try. Who knows what asecond
attempt will do?”

There was no reply from Sloane. He was gritting his teeth, his face red, and his muscles straining.

“Sloane, you need to stop.”

“I can’t.” Sloane lowered his head, his fierce gaze on Dex.

“To protect you!”

Dex gasped as Sloane let out a roar, his body starting to shift. What the hell was Dex supposed to do?
He’d never faced a Therian who’d lost control of his Human side, much less an Apex predator. Quickly,
he backed up against the far wall, cringing as Sloane’s cries of agony filled the room. Sloane tore at his
clothes, pulling his T-shirt and pajama bottoms off before his mass shifted, bones popped, and fur
pierced his skin. Dex reached into his pocket and with shaky hands placed a call.

A gruff voice answered. “What do you want?”

“Ash, you have to help me.” The panic in his voice must have been clear, because Ash’s tone instantly
transformed from its usual gruffness to concern.

“What’s going on, Dex? Talk to me.”

“It’s Sloane. He’s shifting, but it’s not… not normal. He tried last night but couldn’t complete the transformation. Then we got into an argument, and it’s like he’s lost it. I don’t think he’s in control. How
is that possible?”

“Hide somewhere he can’t get to you. I’m on my way. I’ve still got my key to your place.”

Ash hung up, and Dex shoved his phone in his pocket. Where the fuck was he supposed to hide? When
he moved his gaze to the bed, he stilled. There was no time for hiding. The huge black jaguar lay in the
center of the bed, his tail thumping against the headboard. He sniffed the sheets, then the air before his

gaze landed on Dex.
